Graphic Products focuses on the visual impact of products. For example advertising, promotion, packaging and corporate identity.Throughout the course students will have the opportunity to use computers to help visualise their ideas. They will also be encouraged to develop their drawing skills as this is the best way to start designing. They will be taught some 3D drawing techniques and also 3D modelling Techniques using computer software such as Pro Desk Top and Tech Soft 2D Design. All these skills are built upon throughout Year 7, Year 8, and Year 9 so that in Years 10 and 11 students are advised on an appropriate project for their coursework. In Year 7 students look at an artists work to help gain inspiration for their own design. In Year 8 students carry out a combined project with Electronics and Engineering. In Year 9 Students will carry out a number of short, focussed activities as a foundation to the GCSE. In Year 10 and 11 students complete a course work projects that is worth 60% of their overall grade, they will also complete theory work associated with the written exam. |
