 Girls CC4g is a club aimed at girls from Year's 7, 8 and 9.

When

The club runs on a Tuesday lunchtime.

Where

In the computer suite A5 and the students are encouraged to bring their lunch with them, so that we can make the most of the hour we have.

Why

Once the students join CC4g, they are given their very own username and password to enable them to access the amazing website that we use at the club and can also access it at home.

We encourage the girls to do the Go-2-Its which are on the website and in addition, also teach them additional computer skills, using the different software available. Before Christmas the girls made calendars to take home, incorporating different photos/pictures on each month, which they had brought from home - saved on a pen drive, emailed or scanned in.

They were able to take these home for Christmas presents. At the moment, we are working on different gift cards using publisher, eg valentines day, mothers day and easter day. We have between 10 and 15 girls attending the club each week and would welcome any new members.

If you may be interested, please have a look at the Courseware demo on the CC4g website. www.cc4g.net

Who, Where and When?

  • Anyone in Years 7 to 9 who likes writing for fun.
  • Also brilliant artists who would like to help us illustrate our work.

We write stories or poems. In fact anything we fancy. Would you like to be a journalist when you’re older? You can write about non fiction too. Each term we choose a theme for our writing. This term we have been writing about the environment and before Christmas, we did a Newsletter full of poems, stories, wordsearches & jokes with a Christmassy theme. Are you good at drawing? Then you are very welcome to come along and help us to illustrate our poems and stories. How about making up your own cartoon story? Come along and see if you’ve got what it takes to be the next Anthony Horowitz or J K Rowling. All good authors started somewhere. Fully Booked Club is a very good place to let your imagination run wild and get writing!
