Spoon

Loic, Year 8:

The handle is made out of compressed leather from an old seat.
The spoon part is made out of oak (I carved it with a chisel with a curved blade so I could get an angle) with a metal rod going about half way through it to hold it together. The washer in the middle stops the wood from splitting because it is under a lot of pressure.
I didn’t have a fixed belt sander so I used a hand held belt sander in a vice to sand down the leather.  I oiled it to finish it off.
