The Warriner School

The Duke of Edinburgh's Gold Awards

Gold Awards were presented at Buckingham Palace last week (Friday May 9th) and in attendance were several students from The Warriner School.

Our congratulations to the two current Yr13 students and three past alumni who received their Gold Award.

The Duke of Edinburgh's Award programme has a large following at The Warriner year-on-year, with over one hundred Bronze Award participants in Year 9, and a significant number opting to continue with the Silver and Gold Awards. The award programme offers so much for the participants and is highly regarded by employers and other educational bodies, e.g. colleges and universities.

Also in attendance at the Gold Awards celebration were three Warriner staff; Ms Brown, Mrs Westbury and Mrs Wood (now retired but still volunteering on the DofE programme). Unfortunately, Mr Trotman was unable to attend the grand day out, so we are hoping he can attend a Gold Award celebration in the future.

Huge congratulations to all involved.
