Dear Parents and Carers,

Following the Met Office Red Extreme Heat Warning for our area, the school site will be closed to students on Wednesday 24 and Thursday 25 June. This decision has been taken in the interests of student and staff wellbeing and safety.

Teachers will upload work to Go 4 Schools for students to complete where they are able to do so. However, we recognise that the extreme heat may make sustained study difficult; students should prioritise keeping cool, hydrated and safe.

The Met Office and UKHSA advise staying hydrated, avoiding the sun during the hottest part of the day, keeping homes as cool as possible, and checking on those more vulnerable to heat. Children should avoid vigorous physical activity in very hot weather.

We will continue to monitor the forecast and temperatures for Friday 26 June and will update families as soon as possible.
