The Warriner School

Safeguarding and Support Services

Our Pastoral teams are allocated to a Year Group.   A non-teaching Assistant Head of Year and Head of Year  are responsible for the pastoral care and support of their Year group (Year 7-11). We have a  dedicated Sixth Form Leadership team that support our Sixth Form students with their pastoral care.

We support children to return to mainstream learning by providing additional study support in the Study Zone provision.  We organise targeted small group and personalised one-to one emotional support with interventions run by our HLTA - Social, Emotional, Mental, Health and other external professionals including school counsellors.

Our Return to Learn and Reset provision is also based in the Warriner Learning Centre and is there to support students who require behavioural support.  We are a relational school and students complete consequences and are supported with restorative meetings as required.

The staff in the WLC work closely with Tutors and Heads of Year on engagement and behaviour support and also any Safe at School (bullying) concerns. Our school counsellors and School Health Nurse service are based in the WLC and work closely with the team. Both of these services are appointment based, although the health nurse also offers a drop-in service. The WLC works closely with the SEND department Aspire on provision and support for vulnerable children.
