Earth and Social Sciences
Faculty Leader - Mrs Sammi Newman
Faculty Vision
Welcome to the Earth and Social Sciences Faculty. I am proud to lead a dedicated team of subject specialists who are passionate about helping students make sense of the world and their role within it. Our faculty spans a rich and diverse curriculum, including Geography (KS3–KS5), Psychology (KS5), Sociology (KS4–KS5), Travel and Tourism (KS4), Health & Social Care (KS4), Business (KS5), and the Extended Project Qualification (KS5).
At the heart of our work is a relational approach—placing strong, respectful relationships at the centre of all we do. We believe that positive connections between staff and students, as well as among peers, create the foundation for effective learning, personal development, and wellbeing.
We also believe in creating an inclusive and inspiring environment where students are encouraged to ask questions, explore different perspectives, and develop as informed, responsible global citizens. Whether examining human behaviour, exploring economic systems, or understanding physical and human landscapes, our aim is to nurture curiosity and ambition in every learner.
The aim of all Social Sciences is to encourage students to reflect on their position within the world and their relationship to it. Each subject within our faculty contributes to this aim in unique ways. Please explore our subject-specific pages, where you will find our curriculum intents and detailed aims for each discipline.
Our subjects are rooted in real-world relevance and encourage students to think critically, reflect on society, and engage meaningfully with both local and global issues. Through this, we prepare students to become thoughtful, informed, and socially responsible individuals.
It is a privilege to lead such a vibrant faculty, and I look forward to continuing to work alongside our students, families, and the wider school community to help every learner thrive.

Culture & Communications
Faculty Leader - Mrs Kelly Halsall
Faculty Vision
At our core, the Culture and Communications Faculty is about opening minds and broadening perspectives. Through the dynamic subjects of English, Drama, Modern Foreign Languages, and History, we invite students to explore the richness of human experience—across time, across cultures, and across disciplines.
Our curriculum is designed to inspire curiosity and foster a deep understanding of the world. In every lesson, students are encouraged to think critically, communicate confidently, and engage creatively. Whether they are analysing a novel, performing a play, learning a new language, or exploring the past, they are developing the skills and insights needed to navigate an increasingly interconnected world.
We are proud to offer a curriculum that is both ambitious and inclusive—one that stretches and challenges students of all abilities while providing the support they need to thrive. Our faculty is united by a commitment to high standards, rich content, and meaningful learning experiences that empower every student to find their voice and shape their future.
Through the lens of culture and communication, we help students make sense of the world—and their place within it.

Life & Mathematical Sciences
Faculty Leader - Mr Adrian Turner
Faculty Vision
At the heart of the Life and Mathematical Sciences Faculty is a commitment to understanding the world through logic, discovery, and application. Through the diverse and dynamic subjects of Mathematics, Science, Computer Science, and Animal Care, we empower students to explore the patterns, systems, and phenomena that shape the natural and technological world.
Our curriculum is designed to nurture confident problem solvers—students who can think critically, reason mathematically, and apply scientific understanding to real-world challenges. Whether they are investigating ecosystems, writing algorithms, exploring the laws of physics, or caring for living creatures, our learners are developing the analytical and practical skills needed to thrive in a rapidly evolving world.
We are proud to offer a curriculum that is both rigorous and inclusive—one that stretches the most able while supporting every learner to achieve their potential. Our faculty is united by a shared belief in high standards, deep subject knowledge, and meaningful learning experiences that connect classroom learning to the world beyond school.
We aim to develop curious, capable, and confident learners who understand how the world works—and how they can shape it for the better.

Creative Arts & Cultural Society
Faculty Leader - Mr Tony Buckmaster
Faculty Vision
At the Creative Art & Cultural Society Faculty, we believe in educating the whole child. Through subjects like Art, Design & Technology, PE, Music, RPE, and PSHE, we provide a rich and balanced curriculum that nurtures creativity, confidence, and character.
These subjects play a vital role in helping students express themselves, think critically, stay active, and understand the world around them. They also build essential life skills—such as teamwork, empathy, resilience, and emotional well-being—that support academic success and prepare young people for real-life challenges.
We are committed to working in partnership with parents to ensure every child thrives—not just as a learner, but as a thoughtful, healthy, and capable individual ready to make a positive impact in their community and beyond.
